A friend of mine has a stock Z71 extended cab with open diffs. He's thinking he wants to add lockers (lockrite or similar), but is concerned about driveability issues. If anything, the lockers on my Jeep improved driveability, but I realize things would be different on the much longer WB. Anybody on here running lockers on a full size?
unless he has a semi-float 14 bolt in the rear i suggest he doesn't lock either axle. the ifs front will constantly be grenading shafts and the 10 bolt rear isn't much better. it may survive locked with small tires. but lockers shouldn't affect driveability much
get an air-locker, only there when you need it
This guy will probably be running stock 265s or 285s. I think all he wants lockers for is bragging rights. SO GOLDY, has this guy ever got stuck and needed lockers? Did a little red jeep go to pull him out and get stuck before you hooked to him? Did a zuki come and rescue him?
