Does anybody know a good way or if you even can bypass the load sensing proportioning valve on an 85 SR5? Hallmark and gray daniels wants about $300 for a new one!
if its like the ones that come on mj's just unhook the arm from the axle and tie it up so that its always engaged.
You can do as redneck23ms says and just unhook the arm and tie it up, that will give you full braking power to the rear wheels which could lead to an exciting situation with a light load, stock size tires, and wet pavement so be aware. If you have bigger tires, say 33" or more it would probably be fine. If you want to replace it with a manually adjustable valve look here and scroll down...

There was a guy on Pirate that made a bracket to make the LSPV manually adjustable.
You mentioned replacing it, is it not working at all? As in no rear brakes?
Find a junkyard replacement.
I found this after some digging so i went to pull a part yesterday and got to more of the brackets and did this last night. i ran out of time though so im gonna bleed it tonight and see how it works
