personally i'd probably stick with leafs. its much easier and cheaper to fab some leaf spring mounts than it is to do links and coils. a truss and axle brackets will run you close to $500 alone plus you'll still have to make the frame side mounts and get control arms and a trackbar. granted a well built link suspension is superior to leafs. but front leafs can work very well and will work better than alot of the stock short arm lifts

So, Its is cheaper to keep the leafs then? Either way I have to change a bunch of stuff. Sounds like I need to keep looking for the flat top knuckles then.

with that much lift you would really need hi-steer with leafs or coils. check the classifieds on all of your local forums plus pirate and other offroad sites and you should be able to find some knuckles. if not hit up some junkyards and pull some off then you'll just have to get the passenger knuckled milled and drilled for a hi-steer arm.

Go pick up this month's issue of JP Magazine...it has a pretty good article on pros and cons of leaf, coil, and coilover suspensions, and also tells things to watch out for when fabbing each one. If you can get the leaf setup to work, they're really reliable, cheap to replace and a very simple design. There are alot of horror stories about axle wrap, trackbar interference, and steering linkage binding in a spring-over setup, though.

A poorly setup link suspension can bind but one done right gives you great flex and awesome approach angles

Thats a pretty sweet deal, but I dont want to have to change my wheels. And I need a drivers drop. If I were to change the whole axle. I did manage to find a set of left and right knuckles for $100, but I need to get to the yard and pull them out myself.
