i have an 86 toyota ifs truck and i have a 4in lift for it.. after i put the lift on the truck can i still tighten my torsion bars to lift it a little more than 4in?
Yes, it will just stiffen up the ride the more you crank.
ok.. i got 3 1/2in by tightening them right now without the lift.. i just want to get 2in out of them once i get the lift on and have a total of 6in.. putting a 3in body and 38s
I believe most of those kits are listed as 4-6" kits so you can turn the torsion bars up if you dont mind a little rougher ride. Truck is gonna look nice did you find some tires?
not yet.. im still looking.. im wanting a tsl.. or even a bogger.. but right now i will take whatever i can find really.. i found some 38/15-15 tsl sx with dodge pattern eagle alloys and front and rear dodge axles with lift springs for the rear for like $250.. so i will probably get them and sell everything but the tires.. lol.. cuz the tires are almost brand new
I had a 92 toyota pickup with 3 inch lift all torsion in the frontback i had some blocks. I would buy a 6inch lift ad a three inch body and slap you some 38's on it and some 4.88 gears locked in the rear and go to town. O and save some $$$ for wheel bearings ball joints and cv axles.

i think i know you.. you work at southland offroad? if so im the guy with the silver f150 that used to go to jones.. had the 06 green big bear that you said was worse than yours.. haha.. and i have a 4in lift for it, and i just ordered some blocks.. gonna tighten to torsion bars to get 6in of suspension.. get a 3in body.. gonna put 5.29s in it and the 38s.. i already have new ball joints im gonna put on when i put the lift on and couple of spare wheel bearings and cv axles.. im good to go.. haha
off topic but when did you come to my house with Zac
This is just my opinion, but I ain't charging for it.

I wouldn't put a dime in that IFS front end, go ahead and get you a straight axle and stick in there. You can find them for a C note and get some junk yard springs and a cross over steering kit and you're in business. You can even sell your lift and pay for part of it. Ain't no way that IFS will last with 38's and actually going off road, the ring and pinion are only like 7.5" and along with the parts that Antichrysler mentioned you'll just be throwing good money after bad.
