im thinking about turning my 87 suki into a rock buggy. Does anyone know the strength axle to tire size wise. Or would it be best to swap in toyo axles looking to run 33-35s. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Corey
i'd go with yota axles. they are stronger and the extra width will help with stability
it's a debate, some folks stick with zuk axles and others stick with yota depends what ya use it for offroad. Try this site and do a search
http://www.zuwharrie.com
If ya need other sites to help with zuks let me know. I am well my dad is putin yota axles under mine since he has it for a few years. there's plus and minus to each it's up to you in the end
how many rocks will it see in MS? I say that as a warning because going the rock crawler route can get $$ real fast
i know what you mean murph but im thinking the 5.38 gears SPOA maybe 33s and the 6.5.1 t-case gears would be all you need.
Im running 33s, YJs, 6.5 case, stock rear axles with spool 5.12s. I have the trail-tough chromoly front axles, with 5.12s and a locker. Both axle housings are trussed. Mine will go more places that i care to pilot it. BUT, I have twisted several housings, broke numerous axles, twisted several drive shafts. If I had went with toyota axles from the beginning it would have been better. I have a set of yotas right now, i am about to build. I say skip building the zuk axles and go with yotas from the begining.
does it seem to pull the 33 good with the 6.5.1
Corey his ride is a little beast! I have seen it in action several times!
go for the gold and get the 8:1 transfer case
