In my 98 bowtie it has over 200k on it first of all. I rebuilt the rearend not long ago but used original gears and shims and crosspin. After i put the 33 ltbs on it the rearend started this weird klanking noise when i let out of the clutch. I popped the rear cover off and checked the bearings everything in there is very tight except the spider gears. I can move them on the cross pin a little bit and up and down also should i just replace them or keep driving it and save for the locker?I know i need to get a lockrite but im just trying to get it through this year untill i can start making some real money after school.
you know what I think, but if the spiders arent worn sharp I would replace the cross pin, another thing i just thought of is the case itself worn any (where the pin goes through)?
No the pin is tight i replaced the little bolt last time i was in there. it dont move like the parts.
sounds like spidies are wearing out linclon lock it and run it till it gives out
