it is in a 84 s10 four wheel drive it has a bad knocking in bottom is it possible it could be fly wheel doing that just hoping it is not the crank when u put it in gear it does not do it till u get it to high rpms Blink need you all thoughts on it
Never heard of a flywheel only making noise sometimes; "when u put it in gear it does not do it till u get it to high rpms"

Well the good news is now you can start planning that smallblock swap you've always wanted to do
x2 Sounds like it is toast.
Are you sure it's in the bottom end, not just a bad engine mount? Get one of those mechanics stethescopes, or rig one up with some tubing.
Sounds like my what my 76 k-10 did and my 98 k-1500 also did would only knock hard at high rpms but run fine idealing. The way i found out what it was is hit the rev limiter about 4 times and tear out down the black top and see what it does. keep an eye on oil presure.
yea i am going to buy a 84 blazer with same motor as the s10 it is also four wheel drive then i would also have extra tranny and transfer rear end u know wat im saying im going to try to have the swap done by sunday hopefully:tomcat: after about a case of beer ha ha hey i could have a motor swaping party this weekend everyone is welcom lol
me and my buddy had a s-10 blazer with a 2.8, it started knocked from trailhead back to home, next day it wouldnt start. We pulled the engine next day and tore it down, crankshaft was broke in half. Ive delt with many engines before but NeVer have seen a broken crank other than in drag cars. IMO you should swap in a 3.4 v6 from a camaro or bird or a 3.8 from a buick and do away with the 2.8.
