not sure what the part is called but i have seen one where the plastic plate inside the distributor was cracked and you couldn't even see the crack that's just what the parts guy told us and we replaced it and it worked, was dying and stuff just like that one
Some sort of a pick up coil? Confused1
Don't think so. This was on about a 97' silverado though, so it may be different, I donno. I'm by far not a mechanic of any sort lol
It will be called the pickup coil by most parts systems (autozone, oreilly, etc...) but Mopar calls it the "Camshaft Position Sensor" as it does not serve the function of the pick up coil anymore but now is used to sequence the fuel injectors.

They will play heck with a vehicle when they start going wonky. Took me two weeks to track down a bad on in my dakota about a year ago.
Angela's Jeep did the same thing. They replaced the Head, injectors etc and that didnt fix it so they replaced the complete engine. It was under warrenty so didn't cost us but $100.00 we were lucky
lol chris.. wow they went about that job the right way didnt they... no wonder dodge is down the drain.
