OK, moving along...

Here is the rear end tore apart.

Old stuff(dirty) next to new stuff(clean)
The Rubicon spring might be slightly longer, not a significant amount.
The metal in the spring is definately thicker.

Rear done, turned it around to start the front.

I don't know if you can tell, but it's sitting high in the back.

Started on the front.

At this point we got a 911 call from my mother-in-law. Her dryer died and I had to go look at it.
So, I'll finish it tomorrow. After a trip to Lowes for dryer parts.
Give her a rope and some clothes pins.
The Rubi springs and non-Rubi springs were the same length originally. I would guess the those you removed had weakened. The Rubi springs do have a slightly higher spring rate, and a hard top Rubi will be even more. With a higher spring rate, there will be less settling when loaded, creating a little lift. If you were not going to do a SL, you should have picked up some 2" spacers to accompany the Rubi springs while you had it apart.
Yes, I think the 2001 springs are very tired.

Don't need much lift with 31s.
It will be a while before I get larger tires for the Jeep.
The truck is next up for tires.

Besides, it only took me a few minutes to do the back.

Next will be the lockers.

Then things to improve flex.
I was able to save the dryer.

Sadly, the rat caught in the blades of the blower did not make it.
Should have been filleted and baked all at the same time! Just add ketchup!
Front tore down:

Destroyed the front shocks getting them off. Northeastern road salt.Kwasny

It's back together now and I got 1&1/2 inches of lift. Plus I get consistent measurements side to side. Passenger side was 1/4 to 1/2 inch lower before.

Good deal!! Lookin' good...what's next?
Immediate need is to change all the fluids. Oil, transmission, brake etc.
Filters too.
Then lockers.

Still debating doing the gear change myself.
