You really wanna do that tho? It's a dd not a off road rig I'd just keep it stock as is or try to figure out a way to lower it back down to size. Keep your focus on the blazer and leave the tacoma as a dd..
It's not a taco... I'm just looking at options right now, I want to completely rebuild the front end and I'm not sure if it would be best to put my money into the IFS or into a solid axle.
It will stay my DD, if I do decide to keep it IFS I'm going to try and find someone to buy those wheels and tires off it and get some stock wheels and stock size all terrains, and lower it back down to stock.
I didnt even realize I said tacoma..

I know barrys has a solid axle down there. But you have to buy a sas kit which cost $1,100 from trail-gear and other vendors aint much cheaper if not more expensive. Marlin dont even sell springs no more you have to get them from all pro. You still have to get the axle then rebuild it all and all I would say your gonna do this for $1500.00 You could get the front hanger and lower it to stock, but all and all its gonna cost a good chunk of change to do the swap and to dump that much money into it for a dd I wouldn't think its worth it. I'd rather put my money into the blazer if I were you. But if you want other options you could go down to barrys and pick off the lower part of the IFS (sense the one you have has been cut) and put it on your truck. I cant rember if it was welded or not I guess I'll take a look next time I'm at your house. Then you can get the U bolt flip kit from SKY, take the blocks out of the rear and put the U bolt flip kit in the rear. Take the lift out of the front put the new IFS stuff in it and your good once you get smaller tires. Oh hey I found the key to the car and started it so you know.
I got my power steering hose for the 4runner today and installed it (thank god for power steering). Next I'm gonna do a driveshaft and shock hoops, antique tags and take it for a real test run. Tomorrow I get my vented rotors and I'm gonna make a run to barrys on pay day and pick up and bigger master cylinder for the brakes there a little soft. I'm back and forth on the driveshaft I feel if its not balanced than it can give your pinion bearings premature failure from all the shacking, I'm thinking of getting one from marlin unless anyone else has a cheaper vendor. As far as lockers, I'm thinking that I should get detriot front and rear but I'm worried about how it will turn. So I've been looking at the E-Lockers and people are selling them around 400.. Then I'd have to get them re geared to 5.29's which would come out cheaper. Anyone ever put a Detroit in the front of a rig? If so did it turn good on the trail's? Tryin to see what I wanna spend my taxes on..
BigCountry is selling a Marlin kit for $100. He told me leafs, brackets, yadda yadda. PM him to see if it is what you need.
Now that would be worth it.. I stoped by the house today and looked at the pickup.. You really wouldnt have to get nothing from barrys or anything.. If you want you could just lower the IFS those bolt holes were cut on 1 side there are 4 total.. only 2 were cut on that side, so you could lower it back to stock and not have to worrie about those 2 bolt holes. those holes that were cut are for a bushing on diff cover I think that it would be fine just to lower it but its up to you..
We'll see when I get home. I told you you wouldn't notice a detroit in the front as long as you have it in 2 wheel drive and if you're that worried about it just unlock your hubs, you didn't put those drive flanges in, did you?
no i didnt put the drive flanges in.. I know I wouldnt notice it with it in 2 wheel drive I know that because I dont know notice that the front is welded when its in 2 wheel drive. But when I'm in 4 wheel drive would I be able to turn well on the trails with a detriot in the front? I know how yours is in the rear and that is almost as the same as it being welded but you said you put those spacers in there and you didnt think its spost to be in there. But with the trucks at work (cucv) we have 1 that has a detriot in the rear of the 14bolt FF I know for sure it does because I changed the gear oil in it and saw it with my own eyes. I drive that thing as much as I can and I dont even notice the locker is in the rear at all. So from experience the detriots in the cucv's at work dont notice them but the one you have I notice it LOL.. just kinda wondering how it would turn on the trails with the 4wd locked in?

Put that hydrualic assist on there and you'll barely notice it.
If it dont unlock on the turns when I want it to I'll notice it.. It will turn really wide.
